Thanks to the generosity of donors, Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland is able to offer several scholarships.
This year’s council scholarship offerings include:
Gold Award Scholarship
Scholarship Value: $2,500

You must have earned the Gold Award. (Girls who graduated in 2024 and earned the Gold Award after the Jan. 15, 2024 scholarship deadline, are eligible to apply this year).
Recipients of the scholarship will be recognized through Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland print and online materials as well as possible council events. We look forward to receiving your application. Additional questions may be directed to info@gskh.org or 888-686-6468.
GSUSA Gold Award Scholarship
Scholarship Value: $5,000
Gold Award Girl Scouts who are high school seniors or recent high school graduates can apply for the 2024 program. Specifically:
current high school seniors who earned or will earn anytime before April 1, 2024.
recent high school graduates who earned in their senior year after March 31, 2023.
Note:
Gold Award Girl Scouts who applied in a previous year are not eligible to re-apply.
To be eligible, all Gold Award Girl Scouts must have their final report approved in the GoGold web app within the eligibility date range.
Gold Award Girl Scouts who are not yet in twelfth grade will have the opportunity to apply their senior year.
Apply between March 15-April 17, 2024. All applicants will receive status updates in June 2024.
Scholarship Value: $3,000 each for up to three girls
This scholarship exists to help girls realize their dreams. Each year applications will be considered for awards for one-year non-recurring college scholarships. One of our focus areas for this scholarship is to increase participation and support girls with financial need and in under-represented groups. (All girls graduating in 2024 are eligible to apply).

This scholarship exists to help girls realize their dreams. Each
year, funding support will be considered for awards to assist Girl
Scouts who have applied to participate in Girl Scouts Destinations. Amount awarded is
determined by program cost and number of applications received.
Following your acceptance into a Destinations program, you will
receive information from GSKH staff about how to apply for the scholarship.
Scout of the Year Scholarships
Annually, the Veterans of Foreign Wars recognizes four individuals: Girl Scout Gold Award recipients, Eagle Scouts, Venture Silver Award recipients and Sea Scout Quartermasters who have risen above their peers in exemplifying the exceptional qualities of that rank with the following:
$5,000 First Place scholarship
$3,000 Second Place scholarship
$1,000 Third Place scholarship
To be eligible for the award, the candidate must:
Be a registered, active member of a Girl or Boy Scout Troop, Venturing Crew or Sea Scout Ship.
Be the recipient of the Gold Award, Eagle Scout Award, Venture Silver Award or Sea Scout Quartermaster Award.
Have demonstrated exemplary citizenship in school, scouting and community.
Have reached his or her 15th birthday and be enrolled in high school at the time of selection.
