What are the different ways to volunteer for Girl Scouts?
As a volunteer, you can support girls in many different capacities. Here are the roles you can sign-up for:
- Troop Leader: Work with a group of girls and mentor them as they make new friends and develop connections that will last a lifetime. Each troop needs a minimum of two leaders.
- Troop Support Volunteer: Assist with driving, activity planning, snacks, money management or other tasks necessary to keep the troop running from week to week.
- Fall Product Program Manager: Coordinate the annual Fall Product sale at the troop level. Attend trainings and conduct parent meetings, distribute sales material, handles product, finances and sale records.
- Cookie Program Manager: Coordinate the annual cookie sale at the troop level. Set up cookie booths, manage inventory and money, and then watch the girls light up when they earn the rewards for being the best cookie sellers ever!
What are the costs?
The Girl Scout membership fee is $25 and lasts through September 30, 2023. There may be additional fees depending what your troop or girl decides to participate in. For example: troop dues, uniforms, camps and events. Depending on the camp, event or activity, prices can range from $5 for something like a movie night to $200+ for a week-long camp or out-of-area excursion! Financial assistance is also available for memberships to those who qualify.
*Purchase of a membership is non-refundable and non-transferable. Non-transferable refers to memberships being unable to transfer from person-to-person. Memberships can transfer to a different Girl Scout council if necessary.
