Outside the Guide partners provide experiences to our girls and families they would not have access to through regular interactions. Curiosity at the Crossroads: Smoky Hill Museum

Animals & Nature: Tanganyika Wildlife Park

Join us for a wildly different experience! An expert educator will guide your troop through a choice of three different Girl Scout programs. Connect with the natural world and have a great time learning and bonding as a troop.
Group visits start at $10 per person and get you a park ticket plus three feedings (giraffe, lorikeets and one childrens zoo animal). Enjoy a walk on the wild side as your Girl Scouts and families explore the park and have great interactions with the animals.
Two hour badge workshops are also available at $10 per Girl Scout. Our excellent educators will work through the steps of each badge with your Girl Scouts and you'll meet live animal visitors along the way!
Where else can you walk up to a giraffe eating breakfast? An Overnight Safari may be just the thing for your troop! $75 per girl and $50 per adult includes an evening flashlight tour and snacks, breakfast in the morning and park admission.

Birds of Cheyenne Bottoms: Kansas Wetlands Education Center

Great Bend, Southwest Region
Visit the largest wetland complex in the interior of the United States. KWEC can support Girl Scouts wanting to earn outdoor and nature related badges. From nature hikes, insect collecting, bird watching, gardening and driving tours of Cheyenne Bottoms. Girl Scouts will immerse themselves in one of the most bio-diverse ecosystems on our planet. 375 of the 450 bird species found in Kansas have been documented at Cheyenne Bottoms.
Girl Scouts will use Merlin, a great citizen science tool to identify and document birds. Tablets will be provided for use. Students will identify birds using mounts, photos that can be set up along a nature hike, any live birds witnessed on our hike and using bird song calls. Bird watching techniques and bird adaptations will also be explored.
