Girl Scout Chameleon Fun Run Open to the Public

Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland welcomes the whole community to the first ever Chameleon Fun Run on Saturday, Sept. 15 in Clearwater, Kan. at the Starwood’s Outdoor Center. Attendees may run or walk the 3K course while being showered with color during this vibrant event, sponsored in part by United Healthcare.

All ages and abilities are invited to this unique event and meet the local Girl Scouts. Doors open at 8:00 a.m. and the Chameleon Fun Run begins at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15 at Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland’s premier camp property, Starwood’s Outdoor Center, 7800 S. 103rd St. West in Clearwater, Kan., a short trip southwest of Wichita. Participants may run or walk along the winding trails surrounding the outdoor center, conquering obstacle courses and getting saturated with color packets along the way. Once crossing the finish line, guests will be greeted by food trucks, a DJ, photo booth, and an inflatable obstacle course to continue the fun.

The first 150 registrants will receive a ‘goodie bag’ filled with:
- Chameleon Fun Run bandana
- Bracelet
- Sunglasses
- Personal color powder packet
- A sticker
- Two temporary tattoos

Girl Scouts can register on Ultracamp while adults and the public can register at for $25 through Sept. 7 online or at the door on race day. Guests are encouraged to wear a white shirt for the color powder packets to appear more vibrant, a water bottle, towel and a change of clothing if they wish to participate in the inflatable obstacle course after the run/walk. All proceeds go toward continuing the Girl Scout mission of building girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place.
