Invest In Girls

Kaley _ Image Hero Website

Hi! My name is Kaley and I'm a 13-year-old Cadette Girl Scout.

Thanks for reading my Girl Scout story.

Being a Girl Scout is who I am. I live the Girl Scout Promise & Law every day. I learned to lead at a young age because of my Girl Scout Leadership Experiences. Last summer was filled with camping trips, badge workshops, parades, and service projects.

When I was in fourth grade, I noticed that some of my friends were hungry. Girl Scouts has shown me that even just ONE girl can make a difference, so I took action to reduce hunger in my town of Haven.

I earned my Bronze Award in 2015 by creating a recycling can drive to support the Haven Food Bank. My project was so successful that everyone in town brought cans to our house. This became a problem! So what did I do? I started Every Can Matters – Part 2, my Silver Award project. I constructed a recycling bin and trailer and placed them around town. Now my yard isn’t full of cans and I’ve raised almost $1,700 for the Haven Food Bank, inspired the City of Haven to start a recycling program, and helped feed my friends and community. In September, Dillons even recognized my program and donated $2,500 to the food bank! Wow!

Girl Scouts like me get to dive into programming in four areas: STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math), Outdoor, Life Skills, and Entrepreneurship.

Girl Scouts don’t just dream big; we take action! Please invest in Kansas Girl Scouts who dream big and take action!
