
While most youth spend their summer in front of the television or computer; girls grades K-6 are invited to Girl Scout Discovery Day in Goodland on Monday, Aug. 9! At this free event, they will experience Girl Scout activities, songs, games, crafts, swimming, and friendship. This recruitment event is for current and new girl members in grades K-6. The Discovery Day event will be from 9 a.m. and go until 4 p.m Mountain Time. Monday, August 9, 2010 at the
KOA Kampgrounds, 1114 E US Highway, Goodland.
Registration forms for this free event can be picked up and returned at the following locations:
Goodland Public Library on 812 Broadway Avenue,
St. Francis City Library on 121 South Scott Street,
Sharon Springs City Library on 113 2nd Street,
Craft Peddler in Brewster on 313 Kansas Avenue and
Weskan Post Office on 527 Weskan Avenue. Registration forms are due by August 4, 2010. Girls are asked to bring or wear a swimming suit under their clothes, bring a towel, sack lunch, wear comfortable shoes (no flip-flops), and sunscreen; check the registration form for additional information. Parents or guardian will be asked to fill out an additional form when girls check in for the event.
