Cookie Kickoffs around the region were a huge success. Each area had their own distinct way of teaching the younger girl scouts and parents the ins and outs of cookie sales.

The Garden City region had one big Cookie Kickoff celebration. Seventy four girls from the Garden City, Montezuma, Sublette, Plains/Kismet, Lakin, Liberal, Satanta and the Syracuse service units gathered at the Garden City Zoo.

Girls participated in many activities which focused on, you guessed it, cookies! The Cookie Stacking, Cookie Munching and Cookie Tossing competitions were amongst the favorites. The girls were broken up into teams to participate in these three events. The winning team in the Cookie Stacking competition stacked cookies 147 ¾ in. tall, and the winning team in the Cookie Munching competition ate 87 cookies in one minute.

Last year the Tumbleweed region sold 88,915 boxes of cookies. This year the region has a goal of 90,000 boxes!
