Girl Scouts and their moms got all glamoured up at the "Mommy and Me, All Glamoured Up" overnight event at the First Presbyterian Church in Hutchinson, Oct. 16 and 17. There the girls enjoyed time with just their mothers and participated in a variety of activities designed to bring them closer. They had fun making bracelets, body glitter, lip gloss and bath salts.
The lovely ladies and their moms learned Zoomba, a fun exercise that helps girls gain confidence in their physical abilities and helps them develop their motor skills. They were visited by a make-up consultant who provided them with information on skin care and how to do their makeup and fingernails. They also learned about jewelry and how to wear it, and then they got to try some on. They felt like princesses!
Being a Girl Scout means being mindful of others, so the girls and their moms made potpourri jars with Christmas lights to give away as a gift to someone special. They finished the evening off by making ice cream sundaes and watching the movie "Freaky Friday", where the mother and daughter switch places!
