Reno County Day Camp 2010 PDF Print E-mail

rcdc2010girlsonbucketswebJune brought on great weather for the Reno County Day Camp. 91 girls and 26 adults enjoyed three days of activities. Girls were visited by a Ranger from Quivira National Wildlife Refuge. Girls also had a chance to practice cooking outdoors over an open flame and participate in different activities. They exchanged SWAPs and put them on their hats and bandanas. These resourceful girls also decorated buckets to tote their stuff in and used them as seats. What a great idea!

Hutchinson Girl Scout Achieves Top Seller Status PDF Print E-mail

100_3476Selling Girl Scout cookies is challenging and rewarding for a 10-year-old Hutchinson native. Allyson Rehegr has been a member of troop # 50059 for three years and has strived to be a "top achiever" in the cookie program.

After meeting her goal of 1,000 boxes in 2009, Allyson thought 1,500 was achievable. Not only was it achievable, but she surpassed her goal by selling 1,714 boxes, making her the top seller in the Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland Council.

All the proceeds from the Cookie Sale, minus a fee to the bakers, stay within the Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland Council, which serves 80 Kansas counties. A portion of that money is given to individual Girl Scouts to be used as "Cookie Credits." Allyson plans to use her Cookie Credits to visit as many camps as possible this summer.
