National S’mores Day is Friday, Aug. 10, and Girl Scouts of Kansas
Heartland would like to invite you to attend our free community
celebrations in Emporia, Garden City, Hays, Salina and Wichita.
Families and the public are welcome to enjoy free s’mores, hot dogs,
and hands-on STEM experiences to get a taste of life as a Girl Scout.
During the event, families will discover how Girl Scouts helps unleash
the inner G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, and Leader) in
every girl. With Girl Scouts’ long-standing tradition of active civic
engagement, we hope local elected leaders will join us and act as an
example for our future leaders, Girl Scouts!
Council staff will be at the event to help girls sign up or renew for Girl Scouts and speak with those interested in making a difference in their community through a variety of volunteer opportunities. With the recent release of 30 new badges focusing on cybersecurity, space science, engineering and other STEM fields, it’s never been a better time to discover Girl Scouts.
