Carbondale Girl Scouts use cookie proceeds to travel, give back to others

Carbondale troop project2

The Daisy Girl Scouts in Troop 30137 from Carbondale are using their Cookie Sale proceeds to not only have fun, but to give back and bring a smile to the faces of other girls and boys. Their actions demonstrate leading the way like a G.I.R.L. and living out the Girl Scout Promise and Law!

The girls in Troop 30137 decided to use their Cookie Sale earnings to make care packages for children at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka. They bought toys, games and activities to put in their "children's care kits," along with a special message from their troop explaining that they used plastic boxes in the hopes the kits would be refilled and returned for other boys and girls to enjoy.

After recently delivering the care kits to the hospital, the girls enjoyed the rest of the day in Topeka by visiting the flower garden at Gage Park and the Topeka Zoo. Their service project and trip to Topeka were part of earning their Daisy petals and their Daisy Journey! Melinda Recob is Troop Leader.
