News from National Girl Scout Board

To our valued members of the Girl Scout community, we'd like to share an announcement from Girl Scouts of the USA's CEO, Anna Maria Chávez. Starting in the Girl Scout 2018 membership year, which officially begins October 1, 2017, the annual national membership dues will increase to $25 for girls and adults.

While this fee increase will impact many families, we know that a Girl Scout membership is one of the most valuable investments anyone can make in a girl's life. We want to remind you that all membership dues go directly to the national organization, Girl Scouts of the USA; no portion of this money is retained by Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland.

This upcoming increase is needed to support GSUSA's research and continued investment and development of new technology and enhancements to girls' program experiences in the outdoors, life skills, entrepreneurship, and STEM (science, technology, engineering and math). You can find more information in a letter from Anna Maria Chávez, along with a FAQ sheet about this announcement.

Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland is committed to ensuring that all girls, regardless of financial means, can fully participate in our Girl Scout program, and we will continue to provide financial assistance accordingly. If you have questions or would like to provide us with feedback, please email info@gskh.org or call us at (888) 686-6468.
