Looking for a way to celebrate Earth Day this year? As the world celebrates Earth Day on Friday, April 22, here are some FREE activities you can do with your Girl Scout sisters:
- Explore the outdoors, and take action to protect the planet! We've got some great news. In celebration of the National Park Service centennial, National Parks across the country are offering free admission this week! This is the perfect opportunity for you to find the national historic sites right here in Kansas, get outdoors, and also get started on the Girl Scout Ranger Program. You can earn a Ranger patch or certificate and help your planet at the same time!
- Play the My Planet game or the Earth Day Memory Game to learn more about what you can do to help the environment. Do you know how many gallons of water it takes to wash a load of laundry? Do you ride a bike to school or carpool?
- Send a free Wildlife E-Card to family and friends to help raise awareness about Earth's threatened wildlife!
If you're looking for other ideas, just take the lead! Try contacting your city or county to see if there is a service project you can participate in to help the environment, or you could start your own. How about a recycling project? Whatever you do, make Earth Day the start of a future that’s healthy for you and the planet!
