Robo Troop earns top honors at Shocker Mindstorms Challenge

Girl Scouts in Robo Troop earned first place in Intermediate at the 2015 Shocker Mindstorms Challenge on March 7 at Wichita State University!

Led by Allison Wright, an engineer at Spirit AeroSystems, this special-interest Girl Scout troop uses STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) skills to construct robots using Lego NXT kits. Then, they try to score the most points by running the robots through an obstacle course during competition.

Robo Troop members, who are from Wichita, Hutchinson, Andover, El Dorado, Goddard and Bentley, include: Hallie Blair, Katie Harrell, Alexis Thamann, Sabrina Kepfield, Victoria Cocannouer, Lilly Dolezal, Isabelle Haahr, Emma Haught, Malia Haught, Jenna McFall, Emma Morrill, Josie Trout, Katlyn Williams, and Emily Gerhardt.
