Did you know Girl Scouts have been enjoying the Mother-Daughter Campout at Camp Wood in Elmdale for three decades? This past weekend, Girl Scouts and their mothers continued the tradition as they enjoyed hiking the beautiful Flint Hills, making crafts, eating s'mores, fishing and more.
This year, the family members of Beverly Mock attended (pictured above). They were presented a plaque in memory of both Bev and David Mock, who started the annual Mother-Daughter campout 30 years ago.
In addition to the special experiences girls and their moms share at this camp, they also keep the Girl Scout Promise and Law in mind as they give back to the community. Girl Scouts brought non-perishable food items this year that will be donated to the C4 Food Pantry.
