Staff members at the Wichita Girl Scout Office were greeted with a surprise Monday morning. Cadette Troop 40143 kindly left Girl Scout Cookie-inspired bath salts to share!
Troop leader Christa Vazeos says the fun project was organized by her “super great co-leader” Angela Libby, as part of Breathe, an It’s Your Planet-Love It! Leadership Journey.
The troop shared details of making the bath salts, which turned out to be a fun project for the girls:
* Mix 1 to 6 drops of food coloring into 2 cups of Epsom salt. The girls decided how bright they wanted to make their colored salts, which included green for Thin Mints or yellow for Lemonades.
* Choose essential oils to add, such as lemon, peppermint or eucalyptus. The girls mixed the oils of their choice.
* Place the bath salts into a small Ziploc baggie, and tie a ribbon around the top with a plastic spoon included. Create and add a label.
“We labeled, bagged, bowed, spooned and ‘ta-a’!” Vazeos said of completing the project. “I think the bath salts are great for a spoon in the bath, a spoon in the shower, or even in a kettle of hot water.”
